Welcoming Professor Valérie Keller to HG Energy

October, 15, 2025

We are very pleased to welcome Professor Valérie Keller, Distinguished Research Director at CNRS and the University of Strasbourg, for a 10-month research stay with HG Energy.
With over 30 years of experience in heterogeneous catalysis, sustainable chemistry, and solar fuels, Professor Keller brings to our group a deep and diverse scientific background. She has led the Photocatalysis, Photoconversion and Green Chemical Processes group at ICPEES, where she has overseen major advances in the development of organic pollutant elimination, green hydrogen, CO₂ valorisation, and photocatalytic nitrogen fixation.
Her work is internationally recognised, with 160 peer-reviewed publications, 14 patents, and numerous scientific awards, including:
– the Prize of Sciences from the Académie Rhénane,
– the Alsace Innovation Award (INPI),
– the CNRS Scientific Excellence Award (PEDR), and
– the 1st Prize for Strategic Reflection, awarded by the French Prime Minister.
She has also served as founding director of the French Research Solar Fuels Network, linking 40 academic teams across the country in a shared effort to advance solar energy conversion technologies.
Professor Keller’s arrival at HG Energy marks an important moment of scientific exchange and collaboration. Her experience complements our mission to accelerate the development of technologies that support the energy transition, and her presence will no doubt enrich our research, mentoring, and international partnerships.
More than just a visit, this stay reflects our shared belief that collaboration across institutions and borders is essential to advance science with societal impact. We look forward to the months ahead, working together on topics where materials science, catalysis, and sustainability converge.
