Ana Primo and Hermenegildo García speak today at the MXene Symposium 2025 in Bratislava

Sept, 10, 2025

As part of the IEEE NAP-2025 Conference, HG Energy researchers Ana Primo and Hermenegildo García took part today as invited speakers in the MXene Symposium 2025, one of the most active and international events dedicated to MXene science.

🔹 Ana Primo, also co-chair of the symposium, presented her talk:
“2D/2D MOF/MXene Schottky Junction: Prolonged Carrier Lifetime and Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution Efficiency”

🔹 Hermenegildo García gave his talk:
“MXenes as Heterogeneous Thermal Catalysts: Regioselective Anti-Markovnikov Hydroamination of Terminal Alkynes”

Both presentations sparked interest and dialogue among a diverse and engaged audience, including top researchers, early-career scientists, and students from across the world.

💡 MXenes represent one of the most promising families of 2D materials, thanks to their structural versatility, tunable surface chemistry, and outstanding properties for energy conversion, catalysis, electronics, and sensing. Events like this are essential to accelerate understanding and real-world application of these materials across scientific disciplines.

Beyond the talks, today offered a valuable space for networking, scientific exchange, and collaboration across institutions and countries — reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the MXene community.

We thank the organizers for creating such a dynamic platform for discussion and progress:
Maksym Pogorielov, Oleksiy Gogotsi, Babak Anasori, José R. B. Gomes, Ana Primo Arnau, and Michael Naguib.
