The second day of the EuroMxene Congress in Valencia continued with high energy and excitement, featuring a series of enlightening lectures and keynote presentations. The day was marked by significant contributions from leading researchers, engaging discussions, and active participation from attendees.

The day began with a keynote lecture by Francesc Illas, titled “Understanding MXenes from First Principles.” Prof. Illas provided a deep dive into the fundamental theoretical aspects of MXenes, setting a high bar for the day’s scientific discourse.
Following this, David Portehault from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) delivered a captivating talk on “In Situ Insights into the Reactivity in Molten Salts of MAX, MXenes, and Related Materials,” highlighting the dynamic chemical processes involved in MXene synthesis.

The morning session continued with several short presentations:
- Frantisek Karlicky discussed “Excitonic Effects in MXenes.”
- Herme Garcรญa Baldovi presented on the “Synthesis and Photocatalytic Activity Study of Layered TiN Nanosheets as Emerging Materials Towards Greener N2 Fixation to Ammonia.”
