We just concluded the last two incredible days at the HE MOF2H2 Workshop focused on the Synthesis & Characterization of photoactive materials. It was a pleasure to connect with so many brilliant minds in the field.
The first day: 🍽️ The workshop began with a welcoming lunch, setting a collaborative and friendly tone for the event.
🔬 Dr. Mohamad El-Roz presented on “MOFs as Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalysts for Hydrogen Production from Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHCs): Operando Investigation,” providing insights into the innovative applications of MOFs in hydrogen production.
💡 Prof. Abderrazzak DOUHAL delivered a fascinating talk titled “MOFs under light: From Femto- to Milliseconds Observations Toward Light-based Applications,” exploring the dynamic behavior of MOFs under light exposure.
🍹 The day concluded with a cocktail session and poster presentations, allowing participants to engage in informal discussions and network with peers.
The second day: 🌞 The second day began with an enthusiastic welcome, followed by a series of enlightening lectures.
🧪 Prof. José Ramón Galán-Mascarós discussed “Solution synthesis and processing of MOFs and coordination networks for molecular recognition, gas adsorption, and (photo) catalysis,” highlighting the potential of MOFs in various applications.
🌟 Dr. Giasemi Angeli presented “MOF-Nanocarbon Composites: Synthesis and Beyond,” shedding light on the synthesis and innovative uses of MOF-nanocarbon composites.
🔬 Dr. Carlos Martí-Gastaldo wrapped up the lectures with “Synthetic Control of Compositional Complexity in Reticular Frameworks,” emphasizing the importance of synthetic strategies in developing complex reticular frameworks.
Throughout the workshop, participants showed great interest in the talks, asking insightful questions that spurred engaging discussions and deepened everyone’s understanding of the topics. The presentations showcased significant scientific advancements and the lectures explained complex topics in an easy and interesting way, making this workshop a major step forward for our project.
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers for their enlightening presentations, to our partners for their invaluable support, and to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement. Together, we’ve taken significant steps forward in the field of photoactive MOFs.
