Hermenegildo García receives Honorary Distinction from the town of Canals

Yesterday, Hermenegildo García, scientific lead at HG energy, received the Distinció Honorífica 9 d’Octubre awarded by the City Council of Canals, his hometown in the province of Valencia. The ceremony was held in the Plaça de la Vila as part of the celebrations for 9 d’Octubre, the Day of the Valencian Community, which commemorates the historical entry of King Jaume I into the city of Valencia in 1238.

The award recognises Hermenegildo García’s scientific career and his contributions to the advancement of research in areas such as photocatalysis and sustainable chemistry. Over the years, he has received numerous national and international recognitions for his work. This distinction, however, holds special significance as it comes from the place where he was born and raised.
