HG Energy awarded PROMETEO 2025 grant for research excellence — fourth consecutive time for the group
HG Energy is proud to announce that the research group led by Ana María Primo Arnau and Hermenegildo García Gómez has been awarded the PROMETEO 2025 grant, a competitive program supporting excellent research groups in the Valencian Community. Only three groups in the area of Chemical Sciences and Technologies have received this distinction this year, which makes this recognition especially meaningful. The Prometeo grant lasts four years and it is the fourth consecutive time that our group has been awarded.
This support will strengthen our ongoing efforts to develop new catalysts and processes to support the energy transition. The project titled “FLATLAND TO THE SERVICE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY” focuses on the synthesis and application of innovative metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and MXenes in photocatalysis and electrocatalysis. These materials are being explored for their potential in key processes such as hydrogen generation, CO₂ reduction and nitrogen fixation.
Alongside the scientific goals, the project includes clear commitments to training young researchers, promoting international collaboration, and protecting intellectual property.
We would also like to congratulate our colleagues Fernando Rey García and Susana Valencia Valencia (ITQ-UPV/CSIC), and Eugenio Coronado Miralles (UV), whose research groups have also been selected in this call.
This recognition is both a responsibility and an opportunity to continue contributing with solid science and open collaboration to the energy challenges of our time.
