HG Energy Welcomes International Partners for the Final SUPERVAL Meeting at ITQ
On 28–29 October 2026, the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, UPV-CSIC) in Valencia hosted the final consortium meeting of the European SUPERVAL project, bringing together international partners to share scientific progress, review achievements, and discuss the final steps of the project.
Bringing together different fields of science
Over two days, researchers shared their latest work across the project’s different Work Packages (WPs), highlighting the diversity of scientific expertise involved in SUPERVAL.
The scientific sessions included contributions from Santiago Capelo (ORS) on gas separation (WP1); Veronica Costantino (INSTM/UniME), Ghazaleh Abdolhosseini (ICIQ), and Yuzhe Liu (Jülich) on CO₂ and water photoelectrolysis, anode optimisation, and perovskite solar cells (WP2); and Josep Albero (HG Energy, ITQ) on photocatalytic ammonia production (WP3).
Santiago Capelo (ORS), Laura González (VARESER), and Martí Rufí (LCA) presented work on device integration, technology performance validation, and feasibility assessment (WP4), connecting scientific research with potential practical applications.
The second day focused on dissemination, communication, and exploitation of results (WP5), led by Arnau Jordà (ICIQ); project management (WP6), presented by Laura López (ICIQ); and portfolio activities (WP7), also presented by Arnau Jordà.
JR Galán-Mascarós (ICIQ), project coordinator, led discussions on the project’s final deliverables and evaluation, together with Laura López.
Science connects people
Beyond the presentations, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange, bringing together researchers and professionals from different countries, institutions, and disciplines.
From fundamental chemistry and advanced materials to engineering and technology development, this diversity of expertise is one of SUPERVAL’s greatest strengths.
Great science is not only about discoveries, but also about the people, ideas, and teamwork that make them possible.
At HG Energy, we are delighted to have been part of this international collaboration and grateful to all SUPERVAL partners for their dedication, shared knowledge, and commitment to a more sustainable future.
