HG-Energy participated in CatScience2024, held from October 2-4, 2024, at ADEIT, University of Valencia, Spain. The event showcased the latest advances in ChemicalEngineering under the theme “Advances and Challenges in Applied Catalysis,” providing a platform for global interdisciplinary exchange.
Members of HG-Energy delivered notable presentations:
Hermenegildo García, Plenary Speaker:
Metal-Organic Frameworks as Photocatalysts for the Production of Solar Fuels
His plenary session explored the use of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) as photocatalysts for solar fuel production, focusing on their ability to drive water splitting and CO2 reduction under solar irradiation. The talk highlighted the potential of MOFs to address energy challenges by converting solar energy into chemical energy, contributing to ongoing efforts in sustainable fuel production.
Invited Talks:
🔹 Sara Goberna Ferrón: Structural Evolution and CO2 Electroreduction in Cu Doped Gold Nanoclusters
🔹Marta González Fernández: Calcined Titanium-based Organic Framework Supported RuOx Nanoparticles as Photocatalysts for Solar-Assisted CO2 Methanation via Sabatier Reaction
🔹 Amarajothi Dhakshinamoorthy: Metal Organic Framework Based Photocatalysts for the Generation of Fuel
🔹 Pedro Atienzar: Perovskite Nanohybrid Materials for Optoelectronic and Sensing Applications
It was an honor to be part of this conference alongside esteemed colleagues and friends, Shi Zhang Qiao from The University of Adelaide, Australia, and José Ramón Galán Mascarós from ICIQ, who made significant contributions to the event.
These presentations highlighted cutting-edge research within HG-Energy and significantly advanced discussions on key challenges in catalysis, energy conversion, and environmental sustainability. We extend our gratitude to the organizers of CatScience for their efforts in making this congress possible.
