Josep Albero from HG energy Shares Advances in Solar Water Splitting at RSEQ 2025
Dr. Josep Albero, a researcher at HG Energy, participated in the XL Reunión Bienal de la Real Sociedad Española de Química (RSEQ), held from 30 June to 3 July 2025 at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre. This biennial event brought together over 1,000 professionals to share the latest advancements in various fields of chemistry
Dr. Albero presented his work titled “Natural sunlight-driven photocatalytic overall water splitting promoted by porphyrin-sensitized Zn-poly(heptazine imide).” His research focuses on developing efficient, noble-metal-free photocatalytic systems for hydrogen production using solar energy. The study demonstrates a quantum yield of 5.5% at 400 nm, highlighting the potential of porphyrin-sensitized Zn-PHI materials in sustainable energy applications .
This contribution aligns with HG Energy’s commitment to advancing renewable energy technologies and underscores the importance of collaborative research in addressing global energy challenges.
