Today in Lausanne, Switzerland, Dr. Josep Albero presented his latest research at The Materials for Sustainable Development Conference (MATSUS Fall 2024). His talk, “The Impact of Coating Thickness on the Distribution of C2+ Products in the Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO₂ Using Organically Coated Cu₂O Nanoparticles,” explored how adjusting the thickness of organic coatings on Cu₂O nanoparticles can significantly enhance CO₂ conversion, increasing yields of C2+ compounds like ethanol—a key step in advancing renewable energy solutions.
This approach demonstrates how careful tuning of coating thickness can create optimal conditions for CO₂ reduction by balancing desorption rates and charge transfer, leading to more efficient and scalable applications in renewable energy.
The MATSUS Fall 2024 conference offered a valuable platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among global experts in materials science, chemistry, and engineering. HG Energy extends its gratitude to the MATSUS organizers for creating a productive and engaging environment that supports progress in sustainable development.
